The recorded version of yourself should focus on keeping both the blue doors open, while also providing a nice angle as a source of red light.

Solution

Full sequence of actions:

Grab the connector. As a recorded entity, use the hexahedron to open the right door, and use the connector to get light from the emitter as well as keep the left blue door open. As the real version of yourself, place the hexahedron on the fan, connect the connector to both receivers, and place it on the fan.
