Note that every receiver in The Talos Principle has some time before it becomes activated again. If you can interrupt a receiver, then can yo do something with the time it takes to activate to give yourself a permanent way to improve things?
If you're wondering what to do with the fan receptacle on the floor:

That helps only to get the star, or if you leave your hexahedron upstairs. You don't need it for the sigil for anything else.
