Larger organisms from the north-western plains are already moving into the rivers! I've seen frogs and dragonflies. The last generation of plants has really taken root (no pun intended) and is slowly transforming the desert. And yesterday a bunch of seagulls showed up!

With some more work, we could apply this anywhere, including Mars or Mercury or somewhere much farther away. We could transform a lifeless rock into a place teeming with life. We could make millions of dead worlds come alive.
