Puzzle elements

Overview

As you enter the puzzle, you find yourself in a small area with a connector on the left, a pressure plate on the right with a blue door right in front of it, followed by a purple barrier that leads into the main area of the puzzle.

In the main area, there is a red emitter on the bottom of a central tower, a fan on the ground with a pressure plate next to it, a hexahedron, and a blue door that is blocking access to the rear of the puzzle.

In the rear area, there is a teleporter and a pressure plate.

On top of the central tower, there is a blue door, and a red receiver that is somewhat inset into the floor, so that it is not easily visible from the ground.

Hints

A basic hint:

[ hint ]
Since the name of the puzzle is Switcheroo, you will have to think about how to swap the places of some equipment.

If you're struggling to get started:

[ hint ]
The first objective is to bring all the equipment to the main area. Fly up high and then bring the teleporter out, then bring the connector.

If you don't know how to reach the top of the tower:

[ hint ]
Standing on the fan stream alone is not enough. You need just a bit more elevation, then you can jump across.

If your equipment is falling off:

[ hint ]
Only the hexahedron provides a non slippery base for your equipment.

What are the rules for what equipment can go on top of what other equipment?:

[ hint ]
Connectors and teleporters can be placed on top of hexahedrons, and will maintain their positions when they fly up in the air. You can also ride along with a teleporter on top of a hexahedron. However, a connector cannot be placed on top of a teleporter that is already on top of a hexahedron. Similarly, you cannot ride on top of a connector that is already on top of a hexahedron.

If you're unable to connect the connector:

[ hint ]
First figure out a way to travel back and forth from the top of the tower without relying on the fan. Use this method of travel to finish connecting your connector. Then whenever you put the connector down, and try to pick it up again, use the alternate button that keeps the connections.

If you're stuck near the end:

[ hint ]
Don't be too hasty to keep the fan active. Notice that you can reach the pressure plate with the equipment on your hand while you're standing on top of the hexahedron when it is placed on an inactive fan. Similarly, notice that you can reach the top of the flying hexahedron from the edge of the upper floor of the tower.
