Puzzle Elements

Overview

When you enter the puzzle, you find yourself at a platform in the middle of a sphere. There are two connectors available, and large grid of already connected lasers all around you.

Diagram of the connections in the puzzle

The diagram above shows the connections before the user has taken any actions. Each node is labeled, roughly like a chessboard, with letters going from A to U from left to right and numbers from 1 to 5 from bottom to top. Some of the connectors are targetable, but some have a transparent cover on top of them, making them not targetable. There are three groups of receivers, two red, three blue and two green. For ease in finding them, the game adds a thick colored border near them.

Hints

Basic observations you should make:

[ hint ]
Use the diagram above, or roam around and make notes on various things. One thing to note is that not every node is targetable. Another thing to see is that there is a ring of connections at the bottom, below the level of the platform

Counting things:

[ hint ]
Notice that you only have two connectors, but the game needs receivers of three different colors to be satisfied. A receiver can never control more than one color. How can you deal with this?

Choosing your battles:

[ hint ]
Notice that the bottom ring of connections is very effective at moving blue light around, because it is close to the blue emitters. Does it help you choose which colors to focus on?

Preventing spoilsports:

[ hint ]
Because you only have two connectors, you will not only have to use those connectors to propagate light of a particular color to some region, you will also have to use it to block propagation of light of a different color from spoiling your region

Solution

[ ]
Refer to the node names from the diagram above. Connect red to E4, D3, F3 (to light up red) and B3, A4 (to inhibit Green from affecting blue). Connect green to L3, M4, N3 (to light up green) and P3, Q4 (to inhibit red from affecting blue)
