New Alexandria was the second city constructed. Shortly after it was built, a gas leak caused an explosion, killing 31 citizens. Eustathius, who oversaw the planning of New Alexandria, blamed himself. Although Byron insisted that they rebuild, the people decided to abandon the ruins of New Alexandria and live solely in New Jerusalem. A First Companion, Sarabhai, died in the explosion and Alcatraz suffered extreme bodily damage. Later, Athena used the technology left behind at the ruined site to construct her Noema project.
