Unexpected Outcomes is the first puzzle in Into the Abyss, part of the Road to Elysium expansion for The Talos Principle 2.

Puzzle Elements

Overview

The puzzle is composed of three rooms. First, a central area with an Inverter. Then, a cell containing a blue Emitter and a Connector, separated by a Blue door and two bronze walls. Finally, a third room, accessible through another Blue door, contains a gate to the Progress Wheel controlled by a set of two Receivers.

Hints

If you have trouble getting started:

[ hint ]
The only available Emitter is in the cell, you have to use it without opening the cell's Blue door.

If you have trouble figuring out what connects to what:

[ hint ]
Notice that the Inverter can only emit red lasers. The Connector, on the other hand, can output either red or blue depending on what it is connected to.

If you're stuck with the red laser for the second Blue door crossing the blue laser for the final door:

[ hint ]
Since the Connector can output bot red and blue, maybe there is a way to change its color from afar?
