Supportive Apparatus is the second main puzzle in the Western Delta area of The Talos Principle 2.

Overview

As you enter the puzzle, you find a red emitter to the right side, and a corridor on the left that leads to the progress wheel, blocked off by a red receiver. A connector is readily available. In front of you is a blue door that leads to a large room. In that room, to the right is a rail drone that is blocked off by a blue door controlled by a red emitter, another small room with a connector in it that is also blocked off by a blue door controlled by a red receiver.

Since the name of the puzzle is Supportive Apparatus, placing equipment on top of other equipment is going to be important in this puzzle.

If you're having trouble getting started:

There is a window, use that to start things off instead of trying to connect the lasers through the blue door.

If you're having trouble getting the second connector:

If the rail drone is close enough, there is an angle at which you no longer need the light to go through the blue door

If you're not able to keep the connector on the hexahedron:

You can keep a connector on top of a hexahedron on the ground. But if the box is already on top of a rail drone, you can't keep the connector on it. You don't need to, keeping the connector directly on the rail drone is enough

At the very end, if you're having trouble with angles:

Make sure that the rail drone is at the very end of the path. You still need a bit of elevation for the connector outside

Solution

[ solution ]

• 
  Step 1: Connect the red emitter to the first receiver and the rail drone through the window.
• 
  Step 2: Stand on the pressure plate outside to get the rail drone out into the open, then step aside.
• 
  Step 3: Use the connector to activate the pressure plate. Grab the hexahedron from the rail drone and use it to activate the pressure plate instead, so you have a connector now.
• 
  Step 4: Connect the emitter to the second receiver, and then place the connector on the rail drone to activate it. If the rail drone is too far away, you may have to move it a little bit to the right position.
• 
  Step 5: Grab the second connector from within the room and come outside. Through the window, activate the rail drone until it reaches the farthest point on its path.
• 
  Step 6: Grab the hexahedron and place it on the very corner. Connect the red connector on the rail drone to the receiver next to the progress wheel with your spare connector, by placing it on the hexahedron.
