The Mule is the gold puzzle in the Western Delta area of The Talos Principle 2.

Overview

As you enter the puzzle, you see that it is a large area with a lot of puzzle elements. There is a connector and a teleporter available immediately, and there are several doors, a moving platform, a switch that is somewhat hard to find off to the side, and some fixed connectors as well. In a blocked off room, you will also find a driller. A pressure plate controls plasma doors that block the windows.

Since the name of the puzzle is The Mule, you have to use the moving platform to move some equipment around quite a bit.

If you are having trouble getting started:

The connector that makes the platform move needs to sit a bit to the side for it to function in all of the ways you need it to function. This means you have to babysit the process a bit, it cannot be fully automated.

If you managed to get inside but are unsure what to do next:

Try to get all your equipment outside. You may need to mule some other equipment out. Remember that equipment can be active when it is being carried around.

Solution

[ solution ]

• 
  Take the Teleporter and place it on top of the Mover.
• 
  Connect the Connector to the red Emitter, the red Receiver by the Plasma Door as well as the fixed Connector on the side.
• 
  Flip the Switch on and position yourself on top of the Pressure Plate. Let the Mover travel until the end of its path.
• 
  Teleport through a window. Put the Teleporter down. Grab the Driller and drill the bronze wall opposite the Progress Wheel. Position the Driller on the Mover.
• 
  Put the Teleporter on the other side of the hole and teleport through.
• 
  Go back on the Pressure Plate and let the Mover travel all the way to the left.
• 
  Flip the Switch off. Fetch the Driller and drill the wall by the blue Emitter.
• 
  Take the Teleporter and place it through the hole. Grab the Driller and teleport through the grate on the side.
• 
  Drill the wall and position the Driller on the Pressure Plate.
• 
  Put the Teleporter on the other side of the hole and teleport through.
• 
  Place the Teleporter on the Mover. Flip the Switch. Go on the Pressure Plate until the Mover travels all the way to the right.
• 
  Take the Connector and teleport. Connect the blue Emitter to the blue Receiver.

Story

Upon completion of the puzzle, the player hears another message from Cornelius Noema Messages. That is, if this is the tenth gold puzzle that the player solved, they will hear the tenth message.
