Megastructure East is a story area that the player visits after they clear the first three main areas of the map. The player explores the interior of the pyramid shaped Megastructure for the first time.

Once inside, there is an initial exploration section where you will find a terminal and an opportunity to talk to Byron. After Melville remotely opens a door for you and go through some corridors, you will eventually find Yaqut, who has arrived via an alternate path using an elevator. There you will have a chance to talk to him, too.

In the initial chamber, take the stairs to the left before the elevator and you’ll have a conversation with Byron about the beauty of the Megastructure.
Close-up of the blue gun-shaped laser turret.

Continuing forwards you will find an open space, a big golden gate ahead with three receivers (red, green and blue), three gun-shaped turrets of the same colours as the receivers, each preceded by a puzzle, and several bridge gates that allow you to connect all the sections with tetromino bridges. You will need to solve each of the puzzles to gain access to the levers that activate the laser turrets.

Central area of the open space with the golden gate ahead, the green laser turret area to the right, the blue one to the left and the red one at the bottom.
Overview of the green turret area, seen from the far right side of the bridge you enter the open space. The golden gate is visible at the right.
Overview of the blue turret section to the left of the central bridge. The golden gate (not visible) is at the right of the image, in the direction where the blue turret is pointed at.
Overview of the red turret area, just above the beginning of the central bridge.

Switching on the three turrets will open the gate, finally letting you access the terminal NOEMA-03 and learn some shocking news about Athena.

Tetromino bridges

Unlike the main areas of the game, bridges in the Megastructure interior can be solved right away and you don’t need to solve puzzles or complete any task to acquire the tetrominoes.

You can only interact with this terminal on your way back. On your way in, before the end of Act I, there’s a scripted event in which Melville stands in front of the terminal and uses its palm reader. If you arrive before her there’s no prompt to use it.
