Jump Start

Template:PuzzleInfobox Jump Start is the gold puzzle in the Grasslands Ring area of The Talos Principle 2.

Overview

The puzzle room is composed of two main rooms. One has a blue Emitter, a green Receiver to the Progress Table, and a Pressure Plate that controls the gate to the second room.

The second room contains a red Emitter and a vertical detachable Fan activated by a red Receiver.

The tools at your disposal are one Connector, two RGB Converters and one Hexahedron.

Solution

A basic hint

Since the name of the puzzle is Jump Start, understand that at some point, you will have to activate an item or group of items that then become self-sufficient.

If you're having trouble getting started

Focus on getting hold of all the items. There is one connector, a hexahedron, and two RGB Converters.

If you are running out of items to place on the pressure plate

The fan is detachable.

If you are trying to get the right angle for the green laser

[ hint ]

You cannot aim the green laser straight at the receptacle from a height. The grate will block your path every time.

If you got all the items and are unable to make progress

Understand the following facts: you need a green laser guided to the receptacle by a simple connector, because there is no angle to aim an RGB convertor in that little space. So you have to focus on how to free up the connector, you cannot give it the responsibility of feeding the red receptacle that powers the fan. Remember that you can the output of one RGB convertor as the input to another.

Story

Upon completion of the puzzle, Cornelius reveals that he has been watching the player progress, unsure of their intentions. He explains that the Gold Puzzles are the deepest parts of Athena's dreams, and that solving them might reveal a something hidden so deep within her that even she ignores it.
