An active Jammer.

Jammers are tools used to "jam" (i.e. deactivate) certain puzzle elements.

The following is a list of elements that can be jammed.

In order to function, the Jammer must have a direct line of sight with its target. If an active jammer's line of sight gets broken (by closing a Gate between the Jammer and its target for example), the Jammer will remain active but the target will stop being jammed. If the line of sight gets cleared, the target becomes jammed again.
