Vantage Point is the gold puzzle in the Desolate Island area of The Talos Principle 2.

Overview

On entering the puzzle, you see that there are two large areas, the front of the puzzle and the back, separated by grates. On the front side, you see a Pressure plate that activates an angled Fan, and to the left is a blocked-off area with a Hexahedron and a couple of windows. On the back side is a Clone, a blocked-off area with a red Emitter, a Connector, and another area that leads to the Progress Wheel. There is a blue Emitter to the side. Activating the blue Receiver opens the door to a little lobby in front of the Progress Wheel, where a red Receiver needs to be activated to get to the wheel proper.

Since the name of the puzzle is Vantage Point, you have think about the best position for yourself and your tools so that you can solve the puzzle. Unlike the common English use of the word, here vantage does not refer to height or elevation at all, but rather the right angle for things.

If you're having trouble getting started:

Focus on getting hold of all the tools. Don't worry about the red energy emitter to begin with because the red energy receptacle is the last step of the puzzle. How do you make sure all the tools are accessible to you?

If you can't figure out how to activate the blue Receiver:

Look at all the areas of the puzzle, even the ones you may have already retrieved items from. Do any of them have windows that provide a great view of things?

If you activated the blue Receiver but can't figure out what to do next:

Notice that there is only one connector in the entire puzzle. So only the blue receptacle or the red one can be active at a time. How can you best prepare for the blue receptacle to be deactivated, and then the red receptacle activated?

Solution

• 
  Take control of the Clone in the back area, use the Connector to turn on the Fan and jump over to the front area.
• 
  Open the Plasma Door with the Clone and bring the Hexahedron out of its room.
• 
  Turn on the Fan with a Clone. Take the Hexahedron and jump over to the back area.
• 
  Use the Hexahedron to keep the Fan on, take the Connector and jump back to the front area.
• 
  Use the Clone to open the Plasma Door and connect the blue Emitter to the blue Receiver. The grate opens.
• 
  Send a Clone to the back area using the Fan. Place the Hexahedron on the fan and send it to the front area.
• 
  Position the Clone inside of the chamber before the Progress Wheel.
• 
  Take control of the other Clone. Retrieve the Hexahedron and use it to open the door. Take the Connector and connect the red Emitter to the red Receiver. The laser is blocked off by a Plasma Door for now.
• 
  Use the Hexahedron to power the Fan and jump to the back area.
• 
  Position the Clone on the Pressure plate. The red laser is now unblocked and the door opens. Take control of the other Clone and access the Progress Wheel.

Story

Upon completion of the puzzle, the player hears another message from Cornelius Noema Messages. That is, if this is the fourth gold puzzle that the player solved, they will hear the fourth message.
