Template:PuzzleInfobox Windstream is the gold puzzle in the High Plain area of The Talos Principle 2.

Overview

When you enter the puzzle, you see a small area with two connectors. There is a red emitter and receiver and a blue emitter and receiver as well, in different areas, one blocked off by a plasma gate. There is a horizontal fan at the end of a corridor leading towards the progress wheel.

Since the name of this puzzle is Windstream, you will have to use the wind to your advantage at some point.

If you're having trouble getting started:

You cannot make progress on the red laser until you connect the blue laser, but connecting it immediately is inconvenient. What can be done about that?

If you're trying various angles:

You are probably trying to block the blue laser beam from reaching the receiver. Here are some things that will not work: using intersecting laser beams, using your own body, feeding the connector with both types of laser colors. What else is left? What other equipment do you have remaining.

If you've figured out the blue receiver, but not the red:

Read the first hint again. Can you do some pre-work before using the connector as a blocking tool?

Solution

Take a Connector and place in it front of the blue Receiver.
Take the second Connector, and connect the blue Emitter and Receiver. Place it down so that the laser is blocked by the first Connector. This way, the Fan is not powered on.
Walk around and grab the first Connector. The blue laser is no longer blocked and the Fan turns on. Connect the red Emitter and Receiver, and place the Connector down right in front of the Fan. It will push the Connector back and the red laser will connect.
