Template:PuzzleInfobox Transmission is the eighth main puzzle in the Lost Marshes area of The Talos Principle 2.

Overview

As you enter the puzzle you find a center tower of four floors. There is a red energy receptacle on the ground level, the progress wheel on the level above that. On the third level is a swapper, and on the fourth level, the rooftop, there is a jammer. There is a detachable fan on the ground level that is angled so that it lifts the player to the rooftop. The rooftop and the third level both have copper or bronze floors that the driller can make holes in.

There are also two blocked off areas, one area with another item swapper containing a driller and a red energy source, and another area with a clone.

Solution

A basic hint

[ hint ]
Although the name of the puzzle is Transmission, that is not much of a hint. Instead try thinking about the basic mechanics of swappers, how it always requires one item. Remember that throughout the puzzle, what is useful now may become useless later.

If you're having trouble getting started

[ hint ]
The first thing to do is to get hold of a clone. Use the jammer.

If you can't figure out what to sacrifice to get the driller

[ hint ]
Try sacrificing the jammer for now. Use both clones if you're having trouble with gates.

If you have the driller ready but don't have a spare item for the second swapper

[ hint ]
Think this way: if you have a clone downstairs and a clone on the rooftop, what two items will you need? What two items are superfluous? Put the extra items in the swappers to get the useful things out. Remember that the fan is detachable.
