Puzzle elements

Overview

When you enter the puzzle, you find yourself in a large front area with a driller in front of you, and a large staircase leading up to a viewing balcony area. Ahead of you is a set of rooms in two rows. Going from left to right, farther away to nearer, we see:

  • Room 1: has a clone, a connector, and a red receiver. The right wall is drillable.
  • Room 2: is the corridor outside, allowing movement all along the rear, showing a lot of drillable walls along the various boundaries
  • Room 3: in the center has another connector inside, with a pressure plate just outside controlling access to it.
  • Room 4: has a clone, the red emitter, and a pressure plate that keeps the blue door open. This clone is visible from the balcony. There is another drillable wall facing the nearer rooms.
  • Room 5: back on the left, in the next row, there is a small room with blue doors on both sides, with a pressure plate outside for the door on the left, and another pressure plate inside for the door on the right.
  • Room 6: the middle room on the nearer row, there is a red receiver that controls the blue door to the next room
  • Room 7: the final area, this shares the drillable wall with room 4, and has a pressure plate that leads to the progress wheel.

Hints

A basic hint:

[ hint ]
Since the name of the puzzle is Drilling Party, you will have to use the driller to enable various activities by the two clones in the rear area to make progress.

If you're struggling to get started:

[ hint ]
Jump to the right clone first, because the left clone is not visible. After you go there, you should be able to jump to the left clone if needed.

If you're unable to get the first connector out:

[ hint ]
You've probably figured out that you can drill the wall. Form inside Room 1, it is possible to target both the emitter and the connector. Place the connector close to the hole for easy access.

If you're trying to get both connectors out into the second row:

[ hint ]
One of the connectors has to keep the emitter room's door open for now. It is hard to avoid that for the time being.

If you're struggling to get to the final room:

[ hint ]
When going from Room 5 to Room 6, it is possible to have one connector perform two jobs.

If you reached the final room, but can't keep the door to the progress wheel open:

[ hint ]
Where is the other clone? Can it go back and free up some other equipment?
