Puzzle elements

Overview

When you enter the puzzle, you find yourself in an L-shaped area. There is a fan on the right side pointed up next to a little ledge with a hexahedron on it. Up ahead, there is a raised area with a pressure plate next to a blue door, followed by a blue receiver and another blue door that leads to the progress wheel. On the ground next to this raised area is a swapper with an accumulator in it. On the left side of the room, behind a half-height grate, is a blue emitter.

Hints

A basic hint:

[ hint ]
This puzzle continues to teach the properties of a swapper. We learn in this puzzle that you cannot jump on a swapper and then jump further -- that is, they cannot be used like hexahedrons to jump onto ledges. We also learn that if activators are placed in swappers, they no longer remain connected to any equipment, but they also don't lose their charge.

If you're struggling to get started:

[ hint ]
Step into the air stream and grab the hexahedron. Swap it out.

If you're struggling to charge the accumulator:

[ hint ]
You need elevation, lots of it.

If you're struggling to jump to the raised area with the progress wheel:

[ hint ]
Don't try to jump using the swapper as a stepping stone, that does not work. You will need the hexahedron for this.

If you jumped up, but now are stuck:

[ hint ]
You can operate the swapper from that height.
