Puzzle elements

Overview

As you enter the puzzle, you see an connector in front of you, followed by an area blocked off on the near and far side by purple barriers, representing the river referenced in the title of the puzzle. On the other side is a blue receiver controlling a blue door in front of the Sarabhai Fragment. There is a connector at that end as well. Inside the river area are three already-connected red lasers, the first and third go from an emitter on the right to a receiver on the left, and the middle one goes from an emitter on the left to a receiver on the right. Behind you, as you enter, is a blue emitter.

Hints

A gentle hint:

[ hint ]
Since the name of the puzzle is Crossing the River, the entire point is to figure out how to transmit the blue laser across the central area to the other side, where the receiver is.

If you're having trouble getting started:

[ hint ]
Think about only the first and third lasers in the beginning. Can you use the first connector to block them both? You probably can't, because the middle laser is interfering. Imagine the middle laser was absent. Would your solution have worked in that case?

If you're close, but need a little help at the end:

[ hint ]
An active laser is more powerful and capable of blocking things than an inactive, dotted line. Is there a way you can bootstrap a dotted line into an active laser by taking matters into your own hands?
