Triptych is the second main puzzle in the Flooded Valley area of The Talos Principle 2.

Puzzle elements

Overview

When you enter this puzzle, you find yourself in a small room, with a blue door leading to the progress wheel immediately in front of you. In fact, this looks like one of the smallest puzzles in the entire game.

On the right are two emitters, a red and a blue one. On the opposing wall are three receivers, a blue, a green, and then another blue one. An accumulator and a RGB converter are available.

Hints

A basic hint:

[ hint ]
Since the name of the puzzle is Triptych, you have to think about the three receivers, and how to activate them without crossing beams.

One way to organize your thoughts:

[ hint ]
Notice that you have two pieces of equipment available, but three receivers. Therefore, one of the pieces will have to satisfy two of the receivers, and they both have to be the same color.

Another way to organize your thoughts:

[ hint ]
Notice that the two outer receivers are blue. If you try to satisfy them both from the center, you won't be able to do so without crossing beams. Therefore, the thing that satisfies the central receiver must be sitting in the middle.

If you're wondering what color to charge the accumulator:

[ hint ]
Notice that all three colors are available. Two colors are available straight from the emitters, and another color is available via the RGB converter. So feel free to pick the one you need without restriction.

If you found a way to satisfy the central receiver, but are stuck with the outer ones:

[ hint ]
Remember that an RGB converter can use a charged accumulator as a source if needed.
