Because the Talos Principle games span thousands of years of history, there are several different kinds of characters present.
- Ancient humans, such as Alexandra Drennan and Trevor Donovan, lived in the distant past.
- Programs, such as Elohim, Athena, and Uriel, populated the Simulation during the time of the first game.
- New humans, such as Athena (again) and 1k, live in robotic bodies during the time of the second game.
