Area: High Plain
Puzzle Type: Lost

Hexahedral Stacking is a lost puzzle in the High Plain area of The Talos Principle 2.

Puzzle elements

Overview

As you enter this puzzle, you find that the floor is partially flooded, but thankfully that does not interfere with the puzzle itself. There is a hexahedron and a connector near you, and a blue energy emitter and receiver off to the side. There is another area of the puzzle further inside that is blocked off by a plasma gate. There is another hexahedron there, as well as a red energy emitter.

Solution

A basic hint:

[ hint ]
Since the name of the puzzle is Hexahedral Stacking, understand that at some point, you'd be putting two cubes on top of each other.

If you're having trouble getting started:

[ hint ]
Connect the blue energy to the blue energy receiver that is immediately visible and notice carefully what happens to the two blue plasma gates. One opens, and the other closes.

If you are opened the first gate but are wondering about the other one:

[ hint ]
There is a red energy emitter, but no red receptacle. Why?

If you are unsure about the rules of connectors:

[ hint ]
If a connector gets energy directly from energy sources of two different colors, it doesn't transmit anything.
